The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing is auspiced by Benetas and funded by the Department of Health and Ageing through the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) initiative, which aims to ensure the needs of older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are identified and addressed.

Ljubica Petrov – Manager
Ljubica has managed the PICAC initiative in Victoria since its inception in 1998.
Ljubica has extensive experience as a multicultural consultant in education and, for the past 13 years, in aged care. Throughout her career Ljubica has supported the development of culturally inclusive policies and service models. Her areas of expertise include education and training, resource and policy development with a particular interest in culturally inclusive service and workplace models.

Klaudia Vainshtein – Senior Project Officer - Education & Training
Klaudia has worked at the Centre since November 2004. Klaudia has a Bachelor Degree in Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Adult Education (Community Education) and has worked in children's services, employment, career transition and education sectors. In 2005 Klaudia completed a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.
Klaudia has been very successful in developing, promoting and delivering aged care information sessions to Victorian seniors from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Since she started this project in February 2005, Klaudia has delivered more than 110 information sessions to 4000 people. Klaudia has initiated and conducted many other projects, including community and aged care industry consultations. Findings of these consultations and insight from the information sessions have been presented at numerous conferences and workshops around the country.
Klaudia has expertise in helping organisations develop effective communication strategies for clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Klaudia is particularly interested in intergenerational issues and ageing.

Emma Black – Senior Project Officer - Communications
Emma has worked at the Centre since April 2005. Emma has a Bachelor of Arts and a professional background in writing, editing and web development in both private and community sectors.
Following an eight-year stint at a leading independent travel publisher, where she worked on the organisation’s website and other digital products, Emma held the position of Communications Officer at the Ethnic Communities’ Council of Victoria.
Emma researched and wrote the content of this website, and coordinated the development and design of the site, including sourcing the images.
Emma is also responsible for the organisation’s communications collateral, including promotional material, media releases and articles.
