What is it?
The Multilingual Resident Handbook enables residential aged care providers to easily compile and publish resident handbooks in multiple languages, and thereby supply residents and their families with essential information in their preferred language.
How do I use it?
The Multilingual Resident Handbook is quick and easy to use.
Service providers select from optional content (in English) that includes: information about low care, high care and extra service; resident participation; legalities; fees and charges; care services; cultural and religious requirements; food services; recreational activities; and general information, such as laundry, transport and mail.
Service providers are able to choose the content that best reflects their services.
Handbooks will also automatically include information about: quality of care; resident rights and responsibilities; interpreting services; advocacy services; complaints services; harassment and abuse; and privacy and confidentiality.
Once you have compiled your handbook, it can be published and translated online into any of the following languages: English, Arabic, Chinese, Croatian, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
How do I access it?
The Multilingual Resident Handbook is available free-of-charge to all aged care service providers.
To access this function, you need to be a registered user of the website. Once you have logged in with your username and password, a new item will appear in the left-hand menu called 'Your Resident Handbook'. This is where you create and edit your handbook/s.
