Seniors Fire Safety Program for Maltese Seniors

The Seniors Fire Safety Program is a program initiated in 1993 by the Metropolitan Fire Brigade’s Community Education Department to promote home fire safety to senior Victorians.

Fire Safety topics such as smoke alarm installation and maintenance,home fire escape plans, cooking safety and home security and safety will be discussed. The program has won numerous awards including the prestigious International Association of Fire Chiefs Award for Excellence in 1994.

In addition, to reinforce fire safety messages, a variety of information and promotional materials will be provided for attendees to take home. These include promotional brochures, fire safety booklets designed specifically for seniors, wooden spoons (promoting safety when cooking) and translated materials available in English and Maltese.
