Dr Olga Kanitsaki AM on Consumer Directed Care and vulnerable aged people

We are delighted that the ever-inspiring Australia's first Professor of Transcultural Nursing, Dr Olga Kanitsaki AM will join us as a speaker at the Cultural Diversity in Ageing Conference on Friday 15 June, discussing Consumer Directed Care (CDC) and vulnerable aged people.

Among many outstanding achievements, Dr Kanitsaki is a 2017 Victorian Honour Roll of Women recipient and the former Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at RMIT University. In 2014 we honoured Dr Kanitsaki with an award in her name - The Dr Olga Kanitsaki AM Award for Individual Excellence.

Throughout her career she fought for a more culturally responsive health care system in Victoria. In 1995 she received an Order of Australia in recognition of her achievements, and she completed her PhD in medical anthropology in 2000.
