The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing has been delivering training to the aged care sector since 1998. The aim of the training is to assist organisations to provide quality services to older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

for staff working in Aged Care approved provider services

 

Who should attend?

Clinical care staff, care coordinators, lifestyle coordinators, pastoral care practitioners and direct care staff working in residential or home care aged services.

What can you expect?

  • Learn about the experiences of ageing among older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Improved communication with consumers who speak languages other than English
  • Strategies for developing a culturally inclusive approach in your work
  • Access to tools and resources to help you in caring for consumers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds

About the facilitators

The workshop is conducted by the experienced training team at the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing and delivered through funding from the Australian Department of Health Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) initiative.  This initiative aims to ensure that the aged care needs of older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are identified and addressed.
