The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing has been delivering training to the aged care sector since 1998. The aim of the training is to assist organisations to provide quality services to older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.


Cultural Diversity in Aged Care



This workshop aims to provide aged care staff with practical strategies in caring for consumers from culturally diverse backgrounds. It introduces the concept of culturally inclusive practice and provides links to tools and resources which can assist aged care staff in their work. 


Who should attend?

Clinical staff, Care Manager, Lifestyle Coordinators, Case Managers, Assessment Officers, Pastoral Care Staff working in residential aged and home care settings. 


Workshop themes include: 

  • Issues affecting the care of consumers from culturally diverse backgrounds 
  • Strategies for developing culturally inclusive practices 
  • Culturally inclusive practice in the context of Consumer Directed Care 
  • Tools and resources for enhancing quality of care for consumers from culturally diverse backgrounds
