The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will play host to the Cultural Diversity in Ageing 2012 Conference in June 2012.

Nestled on the banks of the Yarra River with stunning views of the city skyline, the MCEC is only a short walk from the city centre, arts and sporting precincts and only 20 minutes drive from the airport.

The bustling South Wharf Promenade, located between MCEC and the Hilton South Wharf, is a hub for restaurants, bars and a variety of shops.

With a convenient city location, accommodation options at a range of prices and star ratings are endless. All are within walking distance or a short tram ride from the conference venue.

Getting there from:

The Airport: Melbourne’s Tullamarine airport is 26 kilometres from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The best transport options to get to the conference venue are taxis which should take approximately half an hour or the ‘SkyBus’ which travels from the airport to Southern Cross Station in the city. A one-way ticket to the city costs $16 ($26 return).

Southern Cross Station: Southern Cross train station is Melbourne’s major transport hub, with regional and interstate trains arriving here. Southern Cross is only 1.5 kilometres from the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the easiest way to arrive is to take tram number 96, 112 or 109 south along Spencer Street. These trams stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance.
