Review of National CALD Ageing and Aged Care Strategy
In 2012, the Australian Government released the National Ageing and Aged Care Strategy for people from CALD backgrounds to inform the way the Australian Government supports the aged care sector to deliver care that is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of older people from CALD backgrounds.
In May 2017, the Government initiated a review of the Strategy calling for submissions and beginning a round of consultations.
The CALD Strategy will be replaced by a broader Diversity Framework building on existing efforts to provide guidance for providers to embed better practice in their service delivery to meet the diverse needs of older people.
