CCDA provides leadership, capacity building and practical guidance to the aged care sector so it can provide culturally safe and inclusive care and services.
To be guided by emerging research and feedback from the sector in developing resources and providing services.
To place the needs and preferences of aged care consumers at the core of everything we do.
To promote and support equity, inclusion and empowerment in aged care services for all consumers.
Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) is an initiative funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to:
Improve partnerships between aged care service providers, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
Ensure the special needs of older people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds are identified and addressed.
The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing currently receives project funding from the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to administer the Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) program in Victoria.
The PICAC initiative provides funding to an organisation in each state and territory.
