The new Aged Care Act is explicit about the right of the individual to use their preferred language or method of communication, with access to interpreters and communication aids as required. The Standards are also clear about the role of appropriate communication with the individual to ensure a safe and high-quality experience of services and care. This webinar explores key approaches, and the translating and interpreting resources, to meet these requirements for effective cross-cultural communication with the older person in their preferred language.
Hosted by Paul Zanatta, Manager of the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing, the live webinar will also provide participants an opportunity to engage in a Question-and-Answer session with the speakers.
