Upcoming courses for interpreters and translators at Monash University

The Translation and Interpreting Studies Program at Monash University is pleased to announce two upcoming professional development short courses to be offered at the Monash University Legal Chambers in Melbourne’s CBD in December 2014. The courses are:

Orientation to the Language Services Sector in Australia - Friday 12th December 2014

This one-day course is for recent graduates of Translation and Interpreting courses, recently accredited or recognised Translators and Interpreters or for those with experience in the Translation and Interpreting field who wish to upgrade their skills.

Advanced Ethics Workshop - Saturday 6th December 2014

This course covers contemporary issues related to the AUSIT code of ethics which was revised in December 2012. Issues relevant to both interpreters and translators will be explored. This workshop features consultants that contributed to the revised Code of Ethics. There will be brief discussion on other conventions used globally in regards to T + I professional guidelines, comparison of the new and former versions of the Code and a group discussion focussing on applying the Code on the job.
