Register for our upcoming webinar Palliative Care & Cultural Safety

Providing cultural safety to individuals receiving palliative care in a community or aged care setting involves delivering respectful, inclusive and person-centred care that honours their cultural beliefs, traditions and identity. Cultural safety for individuals receiving palliative care in an aged care setting is embedded in the Aged Care Act and Strengthened Quality Standards. This webinar will examine the Standards and what is expected from care providers as well as providing a deeper understanding of the complexity of working with multi-faith individuals from CALD backgrounds. This webinar will help to explore:

  • how culture and language impact the way people might access or use palliative care
  • the important questions we should be asking older people when planning for their palliative care needs.

Hosted by Paul Zanatta, Manager of the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing, the live webinar will also provide participants an opportunity to engage in a Question-and-Answer session with the speakers.

Greg Bourke: Support Services and Community Manager, Banksia Palliative Care Service
