By combining the principles of the Aged Care Act, Code of Conduct, and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards with culturally responsive dementia care, aged care providers can help reduce stigma, build trust, support a diverse workforce, and ensure older people and their families are empowered, respected and connected throughout their dementia journey.

This webinar will explore:

  • What to consider when supporting older people and their families from CALD backgrounds, in relation to diagnosis and progression as well as delivering support for positive life outcomes.
  • The importance of building dementia awareness and capability among newly arrived culturally and linguistically diverse workers.
  • The key features of culturally safe and inclusive dementia services

Hosted by Paul Zanatta, Manager of the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing, the live webinar will also provide participants an opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the speakers.
