Join us for a 45-minute mini-webinar where speakers from Settlement Services International (SSI) will discuss the services they provide in their Gambling Harm Prevention Program, as well as highlight some key aspects of gambling harm and how to support those affected—particularly older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Settlement Services International (SSI) conduct community education and provide a counselling service focussed on problem gambling across the community, targeting people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Attendees will gain an awareness of:
- what is considered to be harmful gambling behaviour
- signs that a person may be experiencing or at risk of gambling related harm
- the services that SSI can provide and how to make a referral
- how to start a conversation that can lead to help seeking for a person experiencing a gambling problem
- cultural considerations when working with people at risk of gambling harm
The live webinar will also provide participants an opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the speakers.
